VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors is planning to set up a greenfield plant in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The company plans to invest around ₹,4,000 million. The plant is likely to go operational by second half of 2020.
It will have a manufacturing capacity of 40,000 units of truck in phase I and the later can be expanded to 90,000 units per year.
The land required for the plant has been allotted by the state government.
