MOIL is planning to expand its mining capacity of its Ukwa mines in Balaghat District of Madhya Pradesh. Currently, the mine is operating at a capacity of 11,500 tpa and the company plans to add adjacent area of 48.974 hectares which has estimated reserve capacity of 3.8 million tonnes.
After expansion, the new capacity added will be around 12,000 tonnes per annum and the total capacity will be 2,35,000 tpa. As of May 2019, the project is in planning stage.
